Argentine Tango is an extreme example of the intersection between artistic expression and human connection. Interwoven between the music, the movement, and the embrace is a dizzying rush of adrenaline, endorphins, and oxytocin – enough to make addicts of hundreds of thousands of dancers and enthusiasts around the world spanning nearly a century of dance tradition. It is no exaggeration to say that nearly every city in nearly every country has a tango community, and more experienced dancers regularly travel the world seeking their next “tango high”.
Beyond the narcotic elation of connection lies an even greater capacity to inspire real, positive change. When two people connect, they are both united and healed – the more people we can bring together, especially across all races, religions, and walks of life, the stronger we all become, both individually and as a community.
Pure human connection is an inherent good, something worth reaching and striving for.
Argentine Tango is a remarkably powerful framework to explore and strengthen your connection with other people.
To that end, the goal of the Tango Project is very simple:
More, Better Tango. For Everyone.
The more people that dance tango, and dance it well, the greater the sum of human connection around the world. To facilitate the end goal of “More, Better Tango. For Everyone.”, the Tango Project explores the entire tango ecosystem including, but not limited to, absolute beginners, returning students, regular dancers, teachers, DJs, organizers, musicians, venues, and communities.
